Terms of Service

The deal

LetterDerby is a free multiplayer word game provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee and no warranty. We work hard to keep it fast and fair, but it's a game — please treat outages accordingly.

Playing fair

• Don't cheat: no bots, automation, word-list scraping, or exploiting bugs for score.
• Don't attack the service: no flooding, scraping, probing, or disrupting other players' games.
• Room chat is unmoderated by us and visible to your roommates; hosts control their rooms and may remove anyone. Don't use chat for anything illegal (harassment campaigns, threats, CSAM, spam) — we can remove access for abuse of the service.
• Names and chat are your responsibility; impersonating others is not allowed.

Scores & data

Rooms, scores, and chat are ephemeral (see the Privacy Policy for retention). Leaderboards may be reset or corrected — e.g. to remove cheated scores — at our discretion.

Discord

Using the LetterDerby Discord app also means following Discord's own Terms and Community Guidelines. We may update, suspend, or discontinue the app or game at any time.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LetterDerby and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Total liability is capped at the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (today: zero — the game is free).
